Acknowledgments

GeoDa software on CD to participants in the 2004 and 2005
workshops.
- Clark Labs (Clark University) contributed complimentary evaluation use of
IDRISI Kilimanjaro software on CD to participants in
the 2004 workshops.
- Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI) contributed collections of recent books from the
ESRI Press for use by participants in each
of the SPACE workshops for 2004 through 2007, and complimentary evaluation copies of
ArcGIS 9.0/9.1 software for
participants in the SPACE workshop in 2005 through 2007.
- Intergraph contributed complimentary evaluation use of GeoMedia
Professional software on CD for all 2004 SPACE workshops and for the 2006 workshop at the University of Oklahoma.
- Waldo Tobler and the Center for Spatially Integrated Social Science contributed
FlowMapper software on CD to participants in the 2004 through 2007
workshops at UCSB.
- Mike Goodchild, Don Janelle, and Oxford University Press cooperated to create discounted prices for
SPACE to provide complimentary copies of Spatially Integrated Social Science to all workshop participants
in 2005 and 2006.
- Amy Glasmeier (Pennsylvania State University) provided copies of An Atlas of Poverty in America
for all 2005 workshop participants.
- Arc2Earth LLC provided complimentary 30-day licenses to all participants in 2006 SPACE workshops
(see www.arc2earth.com).
- Various units at the University of Oklahoma contributed cost-share support for workshop staff/graduate
student salaries (Office of the Vice President for Research and the Center for Spatial Analysis)
and social events (The Sasaki Institute and College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences).
- ITT Visual Information Solutions donated a full version lab license of ENVI for the SPACE workshop at the
University of Oklahoma (2006) and provided single-user evaluation copies for each of the participants.
- General computer laboratory and workshop teaching space was generously contributed by the departments of
geography from the University of California Santa Barbara (2004 through 2007), The Ohio State University
(2004 through 2007), San Diego State University (2004), San Francisco State University (2005), and the
University of Oklahoma (2006).
